Chapter One |
The True Two Wings of the Republican Party
We have a number of names for the folks who have been running the Republican Party for the past few years: RINO's (Republicans in Name Only), Demlicans, Bipartisanites, Blue Blood Republicans, Washington Elites and Country Club Republicans. For reasons that will become clear later, we will abjure from these particular pejorative terms and replace them with "Me-Too Republicans".
There Are Two Kinds of Conservatives?
The notion of two kinds of conservatives has taken hold, but it is clearly incorrect. No "fiscal conservative" believes in the horrendous partial birth abortion advocated by the "change progressives" nor in the abominable notion forwarded by Obama that it is OK to kill the children of botched abortions. Pragmatically, it is probable that Rowe versus Wade will never be overturned. But take some time to consider this notion: let's get together and amend that terrible decision. Perhaps we can amplify it to make it possible for abortion (not funded by the government and hence folks who abhor the practice) but only in the first trimester. Surely any woman can make that decision promptly -- not 6 or nine months later. And conservatives can all agree that funding thinly disguised abortion mills like Planned Parenthood should not receive any governmental funding whatsoever. The so-called disagreement between fiscal and social conservatives lies in the definition of just when life begins. Is it at the moment of conception or is it when the life "quickens" in the womb? Conservatives of good will can disagree vehemently about that aspect of this issue, but can still both call themselves "social conservatives" by the following reasoning: neither group approves of the noxious notions by pro-choicers pertaining to mid-term and late-term abortions. Letting the Democrats Pick Our Candidate
We have just endured an election in 2008 in which Democrats and the outrageously left-leaning media actually selected the candidate for the Republican Party. Try to remember the last time the New York Times endorsed a candidate during the primaries. Then, party-crossing Democrats voted for the Republican candidate in early key states. Did true Republicans really want Senator John McCain as their candidate? No. Everywhere in the country, folks were saying, "Well, I can't vote for Obama, so I guess I'll hold my nose and vote for McCain." The effectiveness of party crossing was demonstrated by Rush Limbaugh, who encouraged his 20 million mostly conservative listeners (after McCain was "chosen") to cross over and vote for Senator Hillary Rodham-Clinton to "create chaos" in the Democrat primaries. That creative notion, by the way, worked exactly as he wanted -- Clinton hung on for months past the time the media had already proclaimed the winner. Pay attention to what occurred in those primaries. Although Democrats, in the end, selected the candidate desired by the Democrat party activists, the Republican party activists did not. Skillful Use of the Internet
Notice also the masterful way in which Obama used the Internet to create smears using the internet hate sites Moveon.org, Media Matters and the Daily Kos on an on-going basis to any possible threat to his eventual candidacy. Of course, the wonderfully bipartisan McCain-Feingold campaign reform served to place Democrats in an advantageous position to raise money for the 2008 campaign Note the double hit -- the fund-raising ploy in which small donations, i.e. less than $200.00, on-line was used by Obama. Pay attention to the way in which computer software was altered to eliminate the cross-check on name and credit card numbers used by all merchants on the internet accepting payments. No cross-check by the Obama campaign meant that one person could use pseudonyms with just one card and make multiple donations well in excess of the McCain-Feingold limits. Worse yet, donations could be made with stolen credit cards. Even worse than that, the donations could be made by persons or entities from outside the United States. Aren't there any Republicans who understand the Internet? Of course there are. But not among the Country Club Elites and Me-Too Republicans, evidently. The main use they made of the Internet was to bombard folks who actually contributed with multiple daily emails cajoling further donations to the point of absolute exasperation and annoyance. Well, the Election's Over. What Now?
If, as a conservative, you aren't depressed after the 2008 election, you should be. The cohesive structure assembled with such difficulty by Ronald Reagan and buttressed by Newt Gingrich is in tatters. There is a serious question as to whether or not the conservative movement will actually have any standing whatsoever after the Obama regime. Aggressive attacks on the traditions of the United States of America are being launched with the full support of the media. The fourth estate, instead of being the zealous guardians of our freedoms have jumped ship. If that doesn't scare the pants off you, take the time to read William Shirer's Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. It will make your leg tingle. You will not hear outraged cries concerning the infamous "union card check" legislation to deprive us all of the secret ballot in the workplace that most certainly will be adopted early in the Obama term. Nor even a squeak as the private property of millions of Americans is seized with the proposed 401-K legislation to "protect" the savings by taking them away! Machiavelli was a piker compared to these folks. Not just taking them away now, but grabbing them when the folks die. The Social Security model is terribly appealing to Democrats: collect money from everyone with no deductions (but don't call it a tax!) and spend it as quickly as ever you can. Then when the sucker croaks, grab the rest -- don't give the survivors their rightful inheritance. A $255 death benefit is more than generous! And everyone knows that National Healthcare is a laudable goal -- even for the 12 million to 15 million illegal residents of the country and the 24 million who, of their own free will, have decided to pass on the payment of insurance premiums. Nor will the media protect your interests by providing perspective on the notion of the government paying your neighbor's mortgage off. And should a bona fide Conservative Republican appear on the national landscape, like, say, a Governor Sarah Palin, the media will assist willingly in smearing her with untruths repeated hourly for weeks at a time until they become ingrained in the collective perception. Lessons can be learned from Goebels, alright... Well, enough of the gloom and doom. There actually is a solution to all of this garbage. We need to return the Republican Party to the conservatives by wresting it by brute force from the elites who enjoy Washington. We will present some notions about this in this book. Are they all beneficial to the movement? Dunno. This is a free country and other conservatives may have entirely different ideas about the problem. But now is the time to start considering repairing the broken machine... |
